Cholera cases surge: 50 infected across five districts

Kathmandu, August 13: Cholera has been reported in 50 individuals across five districts in the country, with 38 cases in Lalitpur alone.

According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), the breakdown of cases is as follows: eight in Kailali, two in Kathmandu, and two in Pyuthan.

During the dry season, there's a risk of contaminated water mixing with drinking supplies, which can lead to food contamination and the spread of waterborne diseases, including cholera.

Therefore, it is crucial to ensure the purity of drinking water during this time.
