Prachanda downplays tension in party debates

Kathmandu, August 12: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has downplayed the ongoing internal debates within the party, stating that there is no real tension.

After the standing committee meeting at the party's central office in Parisdanda on Monday, Prachanda reassured the media that all disputes will be resolved.

"There’s nothing to worry about. If there's tension, it's only for you, not for us," Prachanda said in response to media inquiries. The standing committee meeting, which has been in session for four days, involves open discussions on ideas for development, party building, and leadership options.

Deputy General Secretary General Janardan Sharma presented three options for leadership transition on Sunday. When asked about the demand for his resignation raised in the meeting, Prachanda addressed the media's concerns by emphasizing that the situation remains under control.
