Crusher Industries' federation draws attention of PM Oli

Kathmandu, August 12: The Federation of Crusher and Mining Entrepreneurs of Nepal on Monday drew the attention of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli towards the problems related to the renewal of their industries.

Federation representatives including its President Sitaram Neupane met with PM Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar and called on the government to renew the 700 registered crusher and sand mining industries based on the previous criteria.

The Federation stated that these industries had been operating on the basis of the Environment Standard, 2054 and the Standard Related to the Distance of Industries, 2071, but the revised standard in 2077 BS has created difficulties in renewing the industries.

Pointing out that around Rs 4 billion of investment is on the verge of going to the ruins due to the non-renewing of the industries, the Federation called for renewing the registered industries on the basis of the past standards by taking the tax and tariff. It also urged the government to bring a new standard that is more practical.
