Maoist Center Standing Committee meeting continues today

Kathmandu, August 12: The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) is scheduled for Monday at the party's central office in Paris Danda, starting at 11 am.

Leaders will continue to express their opinions, and recent political developments will also be on the agenda.

The meeting at the party's central office in Paris Danda has featured open debates on leadership options, idea synthesis, and party building since Friday.

On Saturday, Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma presented a written proposal addressing internal party issues, leadership options, and party building. Deputy Secretary General Barshman Pun also engaged in discussions on policy and leadership.

Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota stated that Sunday's discussions were largely theoretical, focusing on policy and leadership. The committee is currently deliberating whether to convene a special convention or proceed with the regular general convention.

Some members argued against a special convention, given the approaching date of the regular convention, while others believe a special convention is necessary to address organizational issues. This decision will now be made by the Central Committee.
