Indian foreign secretary visiting Nepal today

Kathmandu, August 11: India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, is set to visit Nepal today. His visit comes at the invitation of Nepal's Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.

When Secretary Lamsal was in India, she extended the invitation to Secretary Misri, marking this visit as a significant introductory one for him. Misri, who began his role as India's Foreign Secretary in July, recently visited Bhutan.

During his trip, Misri is expected to meet with key Nepali leaders, including President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba.

Vikram Misri, who took over the position following Vinay Mohan Kwatra’s retirement on July 15, is well-regarded for his expertise on China and has previously served in the private secretariats of Indian Prime Ministers Indar Kumar Gujral, Manamohan Singh, and Narendra Modi.
