EDCD Reports 47 Cholera Infections Nationwide
Kathmandu, August 10: Cholera has now been reported in five districts across the country—Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Kailali, Pyuthan, and Rupandehi.
According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), cholera infection has been confirmed in 47 individuals nationwide. Of these, 34 cases have been reported in Lalitpur. Additionally, eight cases have been confirmed in Kailali, two in Kathmandu, two in Pyuthan, and one in Rupandehi.
During the monsoon season, there is an increased risk of contaminated water mixing with drinking water, leading to the spread of waterborne diseases, including cholera.
Doctors are urging the public to ensure the purity of drinking water to prevent such outbreaks.
