Air Dynasty crash: Captain Malla’s mortal remains handed over
Kathmandu, August 9: The body of Captain Arun Malla, who died in an Air Dynasty helicopter crash in Shivapuri, Nuwakot, has been returned to his family. TU Teaching Hospital has completed the process of handing over Captain Malla's mortal remains.
The identification process for the Chinese citizens involved in the accident is ongoing. Dr. Gopal Prasad Chaudhury, Head of the Forensic Department at the TU Teaching Hospital, said that identification data is being collected for Chinese tourists Judad Tang (male), Ji Li (male), Zeming Xi (male) and ), Yiad Wu (female)
The Disaster Victim Identification System is being used to identify the bodies through post-mortem examination. Dr. Chaudhury noted that while the collection of post-mortem data is in progress, the relatives of the deceased have not yet provided the necessary details through the Chinese consulate, although photos and other information have been received.
According to Dr. Chaudhury, identity details from the relatives are still pending. The post-mortem examination has been completed, and identification efforts include analyzing fingerprints, dental records, and permanent marks such as tattoos, as well as examining clothing and jewelry.
The chopper crash occurred on Wednesday afternoon when the aircraft was en route from Kathmandu Airport to Syafrubesi in Rasuwa.
