Karnali CM Kandel set to take trust vote on Monday

Surkhet: Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on Monday, August 5th. He has already submitted a formal request to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, which was registered on Saturday.

Kandel will seek the vote in accordance with Article 188 (2) of the Constitution. This will be his second attempt to secure a vote of confidence; he previously received one from Parliament in May.

However, due to changes in the central power dynamics, the CPN-Maoist Center of Karnali has withdrawn its support. In response, Kandel is now working to reorganize the government with backing from the Nepali Congress.

On Friday, the Nepali Congress recommended four ministerial appointments, but these individuals have not yet been sworn in. They are expected to take their oaths on Sunday, just before Kandel's vote of confidence on Monday.
