Bagmati CM Lama wins trust vote

Hetauda: Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama of Bagmati Province has secured a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly. During the assembly meeting on Tuesday, Lama received 64 votes in favor of his resolution for a vote of confidence.

To maintain government stability in the 110-member parliament, 56 votes are required. Among the supporters, 37 members from the Nepali Congress and 27 from the CPN UML voted in favor of Lama.

Out of the 107 members present, 35 votes were cast against him, and 3 votes were neutral. Additionally, 7 MPs from the Hamro Nepali Party were absent, and the Speaker did not participate in the vote.

Lama was appointed as Chief Minister on July 23 by an alliance between the UML and Congress and completed his cabinet formation on July 26. His cabinet includes 13 ministers with portfolios and one non-departmental minister.
