Bagmati CM Lama taking trust vote on 30th July

Kathmandu: Bahadur Singh Lama, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, will take the vote of confidence on July 15. Chief Minister Lama, who has taken the leadership of the government from the UML-Congress alliance, has registered a letter at the Province Assembly Secretariat Hetauda to seek a vote of confidence on the 30th of July.

He was appointed as the Chief Minister on July 23rd, and there is a provision that he should get a vote of confidence within 30 days. Accordingly, Chief Minister Lama registered the motion of confidence in the provincial assembly secretariat.

According to his letter, the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, has called for a Parliament meeting on July 30th at 3 pm. Chief Minister Lama has prepared to take the vote of confidence from the province assembly lawmakers in accordance with sub-article (4) of Article 168 of the Constitution of Nepal and sub-rule (1) of Rule 143 of the Provincial Assembly Rules, 2019.

Chief Minister Lama, who completed the government with one minister with no portfolio on July 27, has the support of 64 Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) including 27 MPAs from the UML and 37 from the Congress. Assuming the position of Chief Minister for the first time in Bagmati Province from the Nepali Congress, he has appointed 6 MPAs each from the UML and the Congress as ministers.
