Saurya Airlines plane crash: 18 dead

Kathmandu. 18 people died in the plane crash of Saurya Airlines. Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson Hansraj Pandey confirmed the death of 18 people. 

9N AME plane of Saurya Airlines flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed around 11 am on Wednesday. As soon as the plane took off, it crashed in the area near the northeast side of the airport runway. 

Spokesperson Pandey informed that the identification of the deceased is pending and the bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Maharajganj for post-mortem. 

The airplane was flown from Kathmandu to Pokhara for maintenance. Airlines' president Deepak Pokharel confirmed that the plane was sent to Pokhara for maintenance. In an accident, driver Manish Shakya was rescued in critical condition and airlifted to Kathmandu Medical College.

It has been reported that the airplane skidded off the runway due to an imbalance right after takeoff. There was a fire near the airplane after the accident. An official from the Civil Aviation Authority at Tribhuvan International Airport immediately informed us that the airplane skidded unexpectedly from the runway.
