SEE result this week

Kathmandu: The results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the year 2024 are set to be published this week. The National Examination Board's Examination Control Office has started preparations for the release.

Nandalal Poudel, the Controller of Examinations, confirmed that efforts are underway to finalize the publication of results within this week. "We are aiming to complete this process by the end of the week. Currently, we are in the phase of verification and processing, which typically takes about two days."

Once this is done, the results will be entered into the system. All coding work has already been completed. We anticipate finishing everything within approximately three days," Poudel stated.

This year, the board will distinguish between theoretical and practical marks in the results.

For the theoretical exam out of 75 marks, students need a minimum of 35 percent, which is 27 marks, to pass.

Scores below this threshold will be marked as 'Not Graded' on the grade sheet, and such students will not be eligible to advance to higher classes until they pass a supplementary examination.

A total of 491,497 students participated in the SEE exams held from March 27 this year.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has mandated the publication of results based on the guidelines outlined in the 'Letter Grading Directory, 2021'.

Previously, the requirement was to achieve 35 percent combined in both theoretical and practical exams.

Starting this year, the new guidelines necessitate scoring at least 35 percent in theory and 40 percent in practical exams separately, as explained by Controller Poudel.

Students failing to meet these criteria will not be admitted to Class 11 and will need to reappear for the chance examination.

Students who fall short of the required marks will have the opportunity to take supplementary exams in up to two subjects in the following year.

Poudel also mentioned that students can attempt to improve their grades up to three times in two subjects through supplementary exams.
