LSP to hold general convention in 2025

Kathmandu: In order to better position the party for the general convention, the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nepal (LSP) has stepped up its organizational strengthening effort. In addition to giving sister organizations and well-wisher organizations completeness, LSP is conducting a membership drive in districts. The party's general secretary, Manish Mishra, has advised that plans are in motion to host the convention in 2025.
According to reports from the district, the new membership distribution and renewal campaign is already underway. The aim of this three-month-old effort is to distribute five lakh memberships by June's end," he stated. "Every district is running the campaign; reports are starting to come in. We won't know how many memberships have been distributed until the campaign is over," he continued.

According to General Secretary Mishra, work has begun on completing the sister organization. The LSP has 31 sister and supporter groups. Only the Democratic Professors' Union and Students' Union have received completeness out of all of them. According to Mishra, all of the organizations will be completed this month. Homework is being completed for the other organizations.

In August 2021, Mahantha Thakur founded LSP, Nepal following his split from Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal. The LSP, Nepal interim constitution states that the general convention must take place in five years. The same statute states that the LSP is getting ready for the convention.

In October 2023, a long time after LSP was founded, the Central Committee was established. The announcement of the central committee came about two years after the party was founded, but not without controversy. Rajendra Mahato left the party because he was unhappy with the central committee, but Anil Jha and other leaders are still not happy.
The party's 311-member working committee is composed of 64 officials. The Central Committee was formed with 64 members about a year ago, but the tasks have not yet been assigned to any of them. Lack of a division of labor causes confusion among leaders. Since the beginning of the membership drive, workers and district leaders have taken an active role.
