Lumbini Province Assembly meeting adjourned

Lumbini Province Assembly's 15th meeting of its 4th session was adjourned due to protests from the Nepali Congress party.

The meeting was adjourned for thirty minutes on Friday as Congress disrupted the Provincial assembly proceedings.

The Congress Parliamentary Party leader, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, declared during the parliamentary session that they would stop the proceedings because the government had proposed a budget that went against federal principles.

He charged that the government was perpetuating its previous fiscal misdeeds and attacked the budget as being prejudiced.

Speaker Tularam Ghartimagar halted the meeting for thirty minutes after the Congress party's complaint, advocating communication between the opposition parties and theprovincial government.

The Lumbini province assembly began debating the budget yesterday, with a number of MPs criticizing it for giving priority to ministers-picked projects above broader developmental priorities.
