Police constable shoots himself on federal parliament premises

Kathmandu: A police personnel assigned to the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Baneshwor has committed suicide. According to Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat, the officer committed suicide by shooting himself.

The officer, identified as Ajit Gole, 22-year-old and from Melung Rural Municipality-4, Dolakha, used his service weapon to shoot himself in the head. Police authorities have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.

Gole, who was part of the police special task force guarding the parliament building, was reportedly dealing with family issues, as revealed in initial investigations by the police.
