Hearing on Rabi's case today

Kathmandu. The petition seeking the suspension of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has been scheduled to appear in the bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Binod Sharma today. The petition registered by advocate Anupam Bhattarai has been scheduled for hearing at number one.

The writ demands the suspension of Home Minister Lamichhane in the co-operative fraud case. The Attorney General's Office had given a letter to Home Minister Lamichhane giving him a 'clean chit' in the co-operative fraud. In that letter, it was said that there was no charge against Lamichhane in any court and there was no ongoing investigation.

The issue became controversial after Home Minister Lamichhane started showcasing the letter from Parliament to the meeting of political parties claiming that he was not involved in any fraud. The petitioner demands that the said letter should be declared bogus and Lamichhane should be relieved from his duty.

Advocate Bhattrai also demands that a supplementary complaint filed against Lamichhane in the Kaski District Court should be taken into cognizance.

Rabi would be suspended from his post if the bench issues an interim order today.
