One dead, eight injured after two-vehicle collision in Kapilvastu

Butwal: One person died and eight others injured as a bus and a pickup van collided at Buddhabhumi Municipality-4 in Kapilvastu district along the East-West Highway. The bus with the number plate Karnali Province 02-001Kha 0525 collided with the pickup van with the number plate Lu 1 Cha 9284.

Deceased has been identified as Hira Lal Badhai of Shibaraj Municipality, Kapilvastu. Badhai, the driver of the pickup van, died on the spot.

Mahendra Bikram Shahi, police inspector of Kapilvastu District Police Office, told Ratopati that the helper of the bus has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment as his his condition is serious. Shahi also informed that seven injured passengers admitted to different hospitals in Butwal have been discharged.
