East-West highway obstructed

Hetauda: Relatives of Nirmala Adhikari, who died in a road accident, blocked the East-West highway in Hetauda.

Nirmala Adhikari, a resident of Hetauda-8, who was riding a motorcycle was hit by a gas bullet with an Indian number plate in Rajaiya of Manahari Rural Municipality-9 Rajaiya of Makwanpur on 7th June. The relatives of the deceased blocked the highway alleging that the owner of the gas bullet had not been brought to their contact yet.

The relatives have blocked the highway accusing the police of negligence. They claim that even after requesting the police repeatedly, they have been ignored. The last rites of the deceased have not been performed so far.

Adhikari was killed when the gas bullet bearing the number plate AS 25 DC 0212 hit her motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The bullet was coming towards Hetauda from Chitawan.

Sapana Shrestha, the relative of the deceased, claimed that they were compelled to obstruct the highway as their repeated pleas of bringing the owner of the bullet into contact were not heeded by by the police.

She said that they had to agitate for justice since the deceased  husband has not been in contact for the past 18 years and the deceased is survived by a daughter.

They blocked the highway in the industrial area of Hetauda-9. The police have reached the area now.
