Weather Update: Fair conditions expected across Nepal with possibility of thunderstorms in some regions

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted generally fair weather conditions across Nepal for the coming days, with partly cloudy skies expected in certain areas.

The prevailing weather pattern is attributed to the partial influence of westerly winds coupled with local wind dynamics.

Currently, the hilly regions may experience partly cloudy conditions, while the remainder of the country is likely to see fair weather.

However, isolated instances of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are anticipated in select areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Moreover, there is a possibility of light snowfall occurring in isolated pockets of the high hilly and mountainous regions.

The Weather Forecasting Division, operating under the Department, has issued a warning for potential thunderstorms in parts of the Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Consequently, precautionary measures are advised to mitigate any adverse impacts on daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, as well as road and air transport in the affected areas.

As night falls, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in most regions of the country, with fair conditions prevailing elsewhere.

Residents and travelers are urged to stay updated on weather forecasts and heed any advisories issued by local authorities to ensure safety and preparedness in light of the fluctuating weather conditions.
