CM Mahara of Lumbini Province secures vote of confidence
KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Jokh Bahadur Mahara, has successfully won a vote of confidence on Friday during the provincial assembly meeting held this afternoon.
CM Mahara garnered support from 48 lawmakers, consolidating his position in the province.
The support came from various parties, including 29 lawmakers from CPN-UML, 10 from CPN (Maoist Center), four from Nagarik Unmukti Party, three from Janata Samajbadi Party, one from CPN (Unified Socialist), and one independent lawmaker.
With the backing of 48 lawmakers, Mahara's leadership is reaffirmed, surpassing the requirement of 44 lawmakers needed to form a majority government in the province.
