lam-2 By-Election: Candidates kick off nomination process
KATHMANDU: The journey towards the April 27 by-election in Ilam-2 has officially begun as candidates started filing their nominations today.
Following the Election Commission's directive, aspiring candidates are submitting their nominations at the designated election offices from 10 am to 5 pm.
Presently, four candidates have completed their nomination process, including Prem Kumar Thamsuhang (Prem Deep) from Janamat Party and Shyam Bahadur Darji from Nepal Workers Peasants Party.
Popular contenders like Dambar Khadka from Nepali Congress and Suhang Nembang from CPN-UML are expected to join the nomination process soon.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has outlined procedures for complaint filing until tomorrow and withdrawal of candidacy until April 9.
The by-election, slated for April 27, will witness polling from 7 am to 5 pm, with 79 polling centers and 149 polling booths set up for smooth conduct. Similar arrangements are made for Bhajang-1, with 74 polling centers and 93 polling booths allocated.
