RPP decides against supporting the ruling alliance at provincial level

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has made a noteworthy decision by choosing not to throw its weight behind the ruling coalition at the provincial level.

In a meeting convened on Wednesday, the party's leadership unanimously resolved to refrain from aligning with the ruling alliance, as confirmed by party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha.

Shrestha further elaborated that the RPP is inclined towards supporting the opposition coalition, marking a significant shift in its political stance.

With a significant presence in the Gandaki Provincial Assembly, the RPP's decision carries considerable weight, especially as the Nepali Congress, the province's largest party, prepares to initiate government formation efforts.

The resignation of Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Pandey on Wednesday has further complicated the political landscape, prompting a call from the province's chief for political parties to assert their claims to the chief ministerial post within a week.
