Ireland Wolves secures opening ODI victory against Nepal ‘A’
KATHMANDU: The first ODI match of the series witnessed a gripping showdown as Ireland Wolves emerged victorious over Nepal ‘A’ with a 21-run lead on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Ireland Wolves set a target of 158 runs before being bowled out in 38.3 overs. Kamal Singh Aire's remarkable bowling performance, claiming four wickets with a stunning hat-trick, showcased the team's prowess. Additionally, Sahab Alam and Mausam Dhakal displayed their bowling skills with two wickets each, while Rijan Dhakal chipped in with one wicket.
Cade Carmichael and NA Rock led the charge for Ireland Wolves, contributing 51 and 39 runs respectively.
Despite a valiant effort, Nepal ‘A’ fell short in their chase, managing to score 136 runs in 25.3 overs. While Shahab Alam led the batting with 37 runs off 34 balls, the team struggled to maintain momentum.
As the series unfolds, both teams gear up for further intense battles in the remaining matches of the three-match ODI series.
