Nepal secures second victory in SMS Friendship Cup, defeats Baroda by 27 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal continues its winning streak in the SMS Friendship Cup, triumphing over Baroda by 27 runs on Tuesday, marking its second consecutive victory in the tournament.

In a nail-biting encounter, Nepal, after losing the toss, was asked to bat first. Despite the pressure, they managed to put up a competitive total of 156 runs on the board, losing six wickets in the process.

During the innings, standout performances came from several Nepali players. Karan KC showcased his bowling prowess by claiming three crucial wickets, while Sompal Kami and Abhinash Bohora provided valuable support, securing two wickets each.

Additionally, Gulsan Jha and Dipendra Singh Airee also contributed by taking one wicket apiece.

In response, Baroda faced a formidable target but struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Eventually, they were bowled out for 129 runs, falling short by 27 runs.

Nepal's bowling attack proved to be the decisive factor in the match, as they effectively dismantled Baroda's batting lineup.

With this convincing victory, Nepal solidifies its position in the tournament, building momentum as they progress further.
