Nepal opts to bowl first against Gujarat in T20 tri-series kickoff

KATHMANDU: Nepal's national cricket team has made the decision to bowl first in their opening match against the Gujarat Cricket Association in the SMS Friendship Cup T20 tri-series.

Having won the toss, Nepal opted to take to the field first in this crucial encounter.

The tournament, hosted in Vapi, India, will see Nepal competing against Baroda and Gujarat in a series of seven matches, leading up to the final showdown on April 7.

Ranked 16th in the ICC rankings, Nepal aims to use this tournament as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies.

In Pool D of the T20 World Cup, Nepal finds itself grouped alongside South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka.

Nepal's upcoming fixtures include matches against Gujarat on March 31 and April 3, and against Baroda on April 2 and April 5.
