Tragic incident claims five lives as taxi plunges into Trishuli River
CHITWAN: A devastating tragedy unfolded this morning as a taxi veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river, resulting in the loss of five lives.
Among the victims were two men, two women, and a baby girl.
The District Police Office in Chitwan reported that the identities of the deceased individuals have yet to be confirmed.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 7:15 AM near the Simaldhara area of Ichchha Kamana Rural Municipality-5 along the Prithvi Highway.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the taxi with registration number Ba 2 Ja 4196 was en route from Kathmandu to Gorkha when it tragically plummeted approximately 80 meters off the road and into the river.
Authorities are still awaiting further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.
