Ireland Wolves defeat Nepal 'A' despite Lokesh Bam's century

KATHMANDU: In an electrifying inaugural T20 match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Ireland Wolves emerged victorious over Nepal 'A' by 21 runs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal 'A' extended the invitation to the visiting Ireland Wolves team to set a target.

Responding to the call, Ireland Wolves showcased their batting prowess, amassing a formidable total of 222 runs for the loss of five wickets within the allotted 20 overs.

Despite the challenging target, Nepal 'A's Lokesh Bam exhibited an exceptional display of cricketing skills, smashing a remarkable century, scoring 106 runs off just 56 balls.

However, despite Bam's stellar performance, Nepal 'A' fell short of chasing down the target of 223 runs.

In addition to Bam's century, Aarif Sheikh contributed significantly with a commendable 49 runs to bolster Nepal 'A's total.

On the bowling front, Fionn Philip Hand and Matthew James Humphreys proved to be pivotal for Ireland Wolves, each claiming three wickets, while MT Foster contributed with two crucial dismissals.

Despite Lokesh Bam's heroic efforts, Ireland Wolves' collective performance secured them a well-deserved victory, highlighting their dominance in the match.
