Bagmati Province's CM Jamarkattel to test confidence vote on April 1

KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province's Chief Minister, Jamarkattel, is gearing up for a vote of confidence on April 1st.

A request for the confidence vote was lodged at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Friday. Following the withdrawal of support from the Nepali Congress, CM Jamarkattel is set to face the confidence test.

In compliance, the CM must secure 56 out of 110 Assembly members' votes within 30 days.

CM Jamarkattel is expected to gain support from CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Hamro Nepali Party.

Currently, the Bagmati Provincial Assembly comprises 27 CPN-UML members, 21 Maoist Center members, seven Unified Socialist members, and two Hamro Nepali Party members.
