Police Chief: No proof of Home Minister's involvement in cooperative fraud case
KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar assured that investigations have found no indication of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane's participation in the cooperative fraud case.
Addressing a gathering of the state affairs and good governance committee at the House of Representatives (HoR), IGP Kunwar stated that despite receiving complaints, concrete evidence linking Lamichhane to the alleged fraud has not been uncovered.
The police have taken five individuals into custody in connection with the case, while efforts to locate 15 others are ongoing. IGP Kunwar highlighted GB Rai as the primary suspect and informed that a diffusion notice has been issued against Rai after learning of his possible whereabouts in Malaysia.
