Socialist Front prepares to welcome CPN-UML in the group, talks to be initiated by Dahal and Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Samajwadi Morcha (Socialist Front), established under the auspices of leftist parties, is reportedly gearing up to welcome the CPN-UML as its latest member.

With CPN-UML's inclusion in the newly formed coalition government led by Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman, discussions are underway regarding UML's potential entry into the Socialist Front.

During a meeting held at PM Dahal’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday morning, the group explored the feasibility of UML joining the front and decided to initiate discussions with the party.

Prime Minister Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal have been tasked with conducting meetings with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on this matter, as confirmed by General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party, Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav”.

Formed on June 19, the Socialist Front comprises four parties, including the Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, JSP, and the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand.

The newly formed Samajwadi Morcha-affiliated parties collectively hold 54 seats in the House of Representatives.
