CIB contacts Speaker Ghimire regarding investigation into lawmaker Chaudhary
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has formally communicated with Speaker Devraj Ghimire, apprising him of an ongoing investigation involving Member of the House of Representatives, Binod Chaudhary, pertaining to a land scam related to Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory.
CIB Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson, Hobindra Bogati, confirmed the communication, indicating that the bureau had written to Speaker Ghimire to provide necessary information on the matter.
The Speaker was briefed that the investigation revolves around the ownership transfer of 10 ropani of land initially registered under the name of Bansbari Leather Footwear Factory to Champion Footwear Limited, allegedly in violation of legal protocols.
The letter stated, "It is hereby noted that the CIB has been conducting an investigation into Binod Chaudhary, a founding shareholder of Champion Footwear Limited and a former board member, concerning the illegal transfer of ownership of 10 ropani of land, originally registered in the name of Bansbari Leather Footwear Factory, to Champion Footwear Limited."
The correspondence underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold accountability and pursue justice, irrespective of the individuals involved, reinforcing the principles of transparency and legality within the nation's governance framework.
