Prime Minister Dahal wins vote of confidence

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), emerged victorious in a significant vote of confidence on Wednesday.

Following the procedures outlined in the House of Representatives Regulations of 2079 BS and the Constitution of Nepal, PM Dahal proposed a confidence vote during the parliamentary session.

Addressing the House, PM Dahal requested the members to express their confidence in his leadership as the Prime Minister.

Subsequently, he secured 157 affirmative votes, receiving support from various parties including CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).

With a majority vote in his favor, PM Dahal's confidence in parliament was affirmed.

Moreover, 110 lawmakers of main opposition party Nepali Cngress and five other parties voted against PM Dahal, while one lawmaker opted to remain neutral.
