Narayan Dahal asserts NA Chair candidacy grounded in party contributions
KATHMANDU: Narayan Dahal, a lawmaker from the CPN (Maoist Centre) and a candidate for the National Assembly Chair representing the ruling coalition, emphasized that his candidacy stems from his extensive contributions and responsibilities within the party.
Addressing the media following the submission of his candidacy, Dahal stated, "Throughout my tenure, including when I was entrusted with the role of the party's Province Joint In-charge, my appointments have always been based on merit and dedication, not merely due to familial connections with Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
The recent allegation of nepotism is not new to me."
Dahal highlighted his long-standing active involvement and contributions to the party since 2036 BS, expressing disappointment at the baseless accusations leveled against him.
He stressed that it would be unjust to ignore his significant role and contributions within the party.
"I have been entrusted with this responsibility in recognition of my contributions.
The unanimous decision within the party to nominate me for the NA Chair should not be misconstrued as inappropriate," added Dahal, reaffirming his commitment to serving the party and the nation diligently.
