UML Chair Oli calls for change to propel country's development

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the necessity of change in the country to foster its development and prosperity.

Speaking at a program commemorating the 77th anniversary of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), former Prime Minister Oli underscored the rapidly evolving situation in the nation. He advocated for a transformative shift to break free from the status quo and move towards a progressive trajectory.

"We anticipate positive changes, albeit incremental, compared to the current turbulent circumstances. Our commitment to 'Mission-2084' remains unwavering. The UML's pursuit of becoming a decisive national force in the 2084 BS general election, coupled with our expedited efforts for national development and prosperity, will persist," affirmed UML Chair Oli.

He emphasized the imperative of enhancing employment opportunities through the modernization of agriculture and the comprehensive development of the industrial sector.

Chair Oli directed GEFONT leaders and workers to prioritize initiatives aimed at advancing the welfare of laborers, the impoverished, and society at large.

Furthermore, he urged GEFONT to formulate and enforce policies and legislation to prevent labor strikes and closures while also encouraging youth mobilization towards entrepreneurship.

The remarks by Chair Oli reflect a strategic vision aimed at instigating pivotal changes to drive Nepal's socio-economic progress in the coming years.
