CPN-UML calls for transparency on Balkumari incident investigation in parliament
KATHMANDU: In a firm stance, the CPN-UML, Nepal's main opposition party, has urged the government to disclose the investigation findings of the Balkumari incident within the parliament.
During Friday's session of the House of Representatives (HoR), CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai insisted on the government's accountability in presenting the report to the legislative body.
Additionally, Bhattarai reiterated the party's demand for the resignation of Minister Prakash Jwala, implicated by the investigation commission, and urged Prime Minister, acknowledging responsibility for the tragic deaths of two youths, to address the issue promptly.
Similarly, Bhattarai emphasized the need for Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha's resignation.
CPN-UML continues its persistent call for accountability in the wake of the Balkumari incident, where two youths lost their lives in a clash between EPS Korean language students and security personnel in Lalitpur.
