Opposition parties call for Minister Jwala's resignation
KATHMANDU: In a rare display of unity, opposition parties have joined forces to demand the resignation of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala.
Following revelations from an investigation commission regarding Minister Jwala's alleged involvement in the Balkumari incident, where two young lives were tragically lost, opposition leaders have intensified their calls for accountability.
During a heated parliamentary session, CPN-UML whip Mahesh Bartaula vehemently urged Minister Jwala to step down, emphasizing the need for swift and decisive action.
Echoing these sentiments, Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), condemned the government's perceived reluctance to uphold ethical standards, despite damning evidence against Minister Jwala.
As tensions mount, lawmakers from both CPN-UML and RSP staged a powerful protest, demanding justice for the victims and accountability from those in power.
