KATHMANDU: The quarterfinal clash in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup has kicked off with an unexpected twist as Kuwait takes the bold decision to bat first against Nepal, following their victory in the coin toss.

Nepal, riding high on an undefeated streak throughout the group stage, has earned its place in the quarterfinals as the undisputed group leader. Their victories over Hong Kong and Bhutan, each with an impressive eight-wicket margin, have solidified their reputation as formidable opponents. In their recent encounter, Nepal left spectators in awe as they trounced Maldives with an astonishing 214-run victory.

However, Kuwait has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, securing victories against Singapore and Myanmar. Despite a setback against Thailand, where they suffered a defeat by 96 runs, Kuwait remains a formidable contender in the tournament.

With both teams hungry for victory and a coveted spot in the semifinals, anticipation is at an all-time high. Out of the 16 teams vying for glory, including powerhouses like Nepal, Thailand, Kuwait, UAE, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, only eight have emerged victorious, setting the stage for an electrifying quarterfinal showdown.
