Dhas and Saharan centuries fuel India's massive 298-run target for Nepal

KATHMANDU: In an electrifying showdown at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Super Six stage, India has laid down a challenging target of 298 runs for Nepal.

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, India exhibited resilience, posting a formidable total of 297 runs in their allotted 50 overs, enduring the loss of five wickets along the way.

Overcoming early hiccups, a captivating partnership unfolded between captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas, amassing a remarkable 215 runs – the highest partnership for India in the U19 Cricket World Cup.

Both Saharan and Dhas showcased their mettle with outstanding centuries.

Dhas led the charge with an impressive 116 runs, while Saharan added a crucial 100 runs to the scoreboard, culminating in a total of 297/5.

With this substantial target, India positions themselves strongly for a semi-final berth, aiming to conclude the Super Six stage with a convincing triumph.

On the bowling front, Gulshan Jha shone, claiming three wickets, supported by Aakash Chand, who secured one wicket for Nepal.

The Nepalese side faces a daunting task in chasing down the formidable target set by the Indian team.
