Businessman Arun Chaudhary, brother of billionaire MP Binod Chaudhary, arrested

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended businessman Arun Chaudhary on Thursday in Lainchaur, Kathmandu.

The arrest is in connection with the alleged illegal takeover of a Bansbari-based Leather Shoe Factory.

AIG Kiran Bhajracharya of the CIB stated that Arun Chaudhary, the brother of billionaire and Member of Parliament Binod Chaudhary, is accused of unlawfully assuming control of the Bansbari Leather Shoe factory.

The charges include the unauthorized transfer of 10 ropanis of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather Shoe factory into Arun Chaudhary's name.

The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the alleged irregularities surrounding the Bansbari factory.
