Kathmandu - The government has recommended the names of economist Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, legal expert Ramnarayan Bidari and economist Bimala Poudel Rai for the National Assembly members.
Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Thammaya Thapa confirmed the recommendation of three names for the posts of NA members. A meeting of the Council of Ministers today took place at the Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar took a decision to this regard.
The constitutional provision is that the President shall, on the recommendation of the government, nominate three people including at least one woman in the 59-member upper House of federal parliament. Fifty six members- eight (at least three women, one dalit and one from persons with disabilities or monitories) from each Province- had been already elected to the NA.
