Karnali Province wraps up NA election voting

KATHMANDU: Karnali Province has successfully concluded its participation in the National Assembly (NA) election, a significant development in the ongoing electoral process spanning all seven provinces.

Commencing at 9 AM today, the voting process in Karnali Province centered on three vacant NA seats. A total of 40 provincial assembly members and 156 representatives from local levels actively exercised their democratic right, contributing to the vibrant electoral atmosphere, as reported by the Election Office.

The electoral competition in Karnali Province featured candidates from diverse clusters, each vying to represent the region in the National Assembly. Krishna Bahadur Rokaya of Nepali Congress, Bishnu Bahadur BK of CPN (Maoist Center), and Sabitri Malla of CPN (Unified Socialist) contested from different clusters, representing the ruling alliance.

Additionally, candidates Bimala Kumari Shahi, Delhi Prasad Bhatta, and Hikmat BK, representing CPN-UML, added depth to the democratic process.
