Central committee member alleges corruption against CPN (Maoist Center) general secretary Gurung

KATHMANDU: The General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), Dev Gurung, is facing allegations of corruption, according to accusations made by a central committee member of the party, Gorakh Bahadur KC.

In a clarification letter submitted by KC, who had previously faced action from the party, it has been asserted that General Secretary Gurung is implicated in corrupt practices.

The party had taken action against KC and a member of his secretariat for misconduct towards a Chinese national during the distribution of relief materials for the Jajarkot earthquake victims.

KC contends that Gurung misused his influence to direct relief materials to his relatives, involving himself in corrupt activities.

He has urged both the party and the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
