Ruling coalition appeals votes for its 19 candidates in upcoming NA election

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has issued a collective call to its supporters, urging them to endorse the 19 candidates jointly representing the coalition in the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election.

A pivotal meeting was convened this morning at the Prime Minister's Office Residence in Baluwatar, where the coalition, comprising Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Nepal Workers Peasants Party, and Janamorcha Party, strategized its electoral approach.

Emphasizing unity in the face of potential challenges, the coalition declared the candidates from its member parties as shared nominees, dismissing attempts to undermine their collective strength.

A press statement released post-meeting asserted, "There might be efforts to weaken our coalition but this is a good opportunity to show our strengths and unity."

The coalition's objectives, as outlined in the statement, revolve around safeguarding the constitution, reinforcing democratic principles, and achieving peace, good governance, development, prosperity, and social justice.

In the imminent election, the coalition is fielding 10 candidates from Nepali Congress, six from CPN (Maoist Center), two from CPN (Unified Socialist), and one from JSP.
