EC addresses objections for NA candidate nominations today
BIRATNAGAR: The Election Commission (EC) has set the wheels in motion to review objections and complaints against candidates who submitted their nominations for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) member election. Following the EC's announcement, today marks the opening of the window for lodging complaints against the 52 candidates who officially entered the race on Monday.
The slated date for the NA elections is January 25, creating a buzz of anticipation among political circles and the public alike.
Complaints lodged against the candidates will undergo a meticulous investigation process, and the Commission plans to unveil the list of candidates under scrutiny on January 10 and 11. This move aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
Candidates seeking to withdraw their names from contention will have until January 12 to do so. The final roster of contenders will be officially published on the same day, bringing clarity to the landscape ahead of the upcoming polls.
January 13 is earmarked as a crucial date on the electoral calendar when the Commission will allocate distinctive election symbols to the candidates. This symbolic gesture marks a pivotal step in the election proceedings.
The voting day itself is scheduled for January 25, with polling stations welcoming voters from 9 am to 3 pm. A total of 2,047 eligible voters are poised to participate in shaping the composition of the National Assembly.
