KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist), a pivotal force in the Dahal-led government, convened a secretariat meeting on Saturday at the heart of its operations, the central office in Aloknagar.

The meeting's outcome reveals a strategic decision where three influential leaders have been assigned the crucial responsibility of handpicking candidates for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election, according to Jagannath Kathiwada, the spokesperson for the party.

The trio bestowed with this task comprises the party's Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice-Chairman Rajendra Pandey, and General Secretary Ghan Shyam Bhusal. This decision not only underscores the party's proactive stance but also signifies a meticulous approach in gearing up for the highly anticipated NA election scheduled for January 25.
