Foreign Minister Jaishankar returns to India

KATHMANDU: In the culmination of a brief yet impactful two-day visit to Nepal, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar bid adieu on Friday afternoon. A farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport, orchestrated by Foreign Minister NP Saud, marked the formal conclusion of Minister Jaishankar's stay.

The primary focus of Minister Jaishankar's Kathmandu visit, initiated on Thursday morning, centered around the seventh edition of the Nepal-India Joint Commission meeting. The visit yielded noteworthy achievements, most notably the signing of a groundbreaking electricity deal and an agreement on High-impact Community Development Projects, forging stronger ties between Nepal and India.

Beyond the diplomatic arena, Minister Jaishankar engaged in pivotal meetings with key political figures, including President Ram Chandra Poudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, and KP Sharma Oli. The deliberations aimed to fortify bilateral relations and cultivate collaboration across diverse fronts.

In a cultural interlude, Minister Jaishankar embarked on a spiritual excursion to the revered Pashupatinath Temple on Friday morning, infusing a sense of cultural and religious significance into his diplomatic itinerary.
