Indian Foreign Minister seeks blessings at Pashupatinath Temple

KATHMANDU: In a serene interlude amidst diplomatic deliberations, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar embarked on a spiritual voyage to the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu on Friday morning.

The visit to this iconic temple formed a poignant chapter in Minister Jaishankar's packed agenda during his official stay in the Nepalese capital.

Having arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday morning, Minister Jaishankar's visit is part of the seventh edition of the Nepal-India Joint Commission meeting. The diplomatic rendezvous unfolded on Thursday, featuring engaging discussions and separate meetings with key political luminaries. President Ram Chandra Poudel, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and influential leaders such as Sher Bahadur Deuba and KP Sharma Oli were among those in attendance.

Beyond the confines of diplomatic discourse, Minister Jaishankar embraced a moment of introspection and spiritual resonance at the Pashupatinath Temple—an eminent Hindu sanctum in Kathmandu. This pilgrimage serves as a testament to the profound cultural and spiritual bonds that tether the neighboring nations of India and Nepal.

In the chronicles of his itinerary, Minister Jaishankar is slated to bid adieu to Kathmandu later this afternoon, thereby concluding a brief yet momentous diplomatic sojourn in Nepal.
