Strong Earthquake Tremors jolt Western Nepal and Delhi-NCR

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Strong earthquake tremors jolted the western regions of Nepal and the Delhi-NCR region on Tuesday afternoon. The tremors were felt at 2:40 p.m.

The tremors were felt in some districts of western Nepal and parts of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh in India. According to the Seismic Measurement Center Surkhet, the epicentre of the 5.3 Richter Scale quake was near Talkot in the Bajhang district.

Similarly, a stronger quake with its epicentre in Chainpur of the Bajhang district was measured by the National Seismological Center at 3:06 pm with a magnitude of 6.3 Richter Scale.

A total of 6 people, including one person from Baitadi and five children from Bajhang, have been injured. The earthquake has caused a landslide to occur in Bajhang, obstructing the Jay Prithvi Bahadur Highway.
