Pathari - Morang, A 72-year-old man was killed when a car knocked him down on the East-West highway at Sundar Haraincha Municipality-7 in Morang district on Tuesday evening.
The victim is Bishnu Subba of Sundar Haraincha Municipality-3. Police said Subba was riding a bicycle when the car (registration plate Ba 18 Cha 2240) hit it at 6 pm near the local Bishwakarma temple.
Subba, who sustained serious injuries in the car-hit, was taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Science in Dharan for treatment where succumbed to his injuries at 8 pm. The Area Police Office, Belbari has impounded the driver and the car for necessary investigation.
