Asian Games Women's Cricket: India reaches Finals beating Bangladesh

KATHMANDU, Sep 24: The Indian team has reached the finals in the Women's Cricket of the 19th Asian Games held in China. India reached the final round after defeating Bangladesh by eight wickets on Sunday.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Bangladesh only scored 51 runs before being bowled out in 17.5 overs. India responded by achieving the target, losing only two wickets, in 8.2 overs.

Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 20 unbeaten runs for India. Shafali Verma also scored 17 runs. Captain Smriti Mandhana scored 7 and Kanika Ahuja scored 1 unbeaten run.

From Bangladesh's side, only Captain Nigar Sultana managed to score in double figures with 12 runs. Bangladesh got eight extra runs. Four wickets from the Bangladeshi team were taken by Indian bowler Pooja Vastrakar.

The second semi-final match of the tournament will be played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on Sunday as well. The winning team will compete against India for the title in the finals.
